This is a postcard that was given to us some years ago. The front of the card is captioned "Rand Stage Line". On the back the woman writes "Am sending this card home because I want one for myself. This is the stage I came on......"
It was mailed to Denver and postmarked May 24, 1911 from the Walden Colorado Post Office with a 1 cent stamp. Those were the days!

Here's a video from simpler times. The Roslyn Ranch located south of Rand on State Highway 125 was purchased by Frances Ann Luchter in 1907 and stayed in the family until 2004. A fascinating read: If The Devil Had A Wife by Frank Mills (pen name) author Rebecca Nugent - is also available here at The Rand Store. This video and permission to post it was provided by Henry Stark. These photos are from our days as a full service Texaco Gas Station. The old pumps were later replaced with newer models. In late 1999, we made the decision to take out the gas station completely, when given the choice to upgrade the underground tanks or leave the gas business behind. We hope you enjoy reminiscing with us.
According to the photograph, this was taken February 12, 1921, a Saturday 95 years ago! We've been told the Rand Rag Pickers were a group of neighbors that got together to perform plays and skits to ward off the boredom and isolation of a long winter in Rand Colorado.
